"Thompsonian Supper"

This post shows in startling clarity the un-imitatable nature of Ron's "Thompsonian Sketches."

Look how bad this looks compared to Ron's!

--and I really tried!

Ah, blessed artistic diversity.

(I figure posting pale imitations might provoke R.T. into sharing more of his work....)

Interesting exercise... however, I think your own style suits you better and Ron does his.

@Rick--well, yes. I made the drawings purely to celebrate Ron and his presence on the blog.

I wish I could handle a brush that way. Mr. Goodson 2 is correct: the burners are a marvel of gesture. I like the lumpy little dial and the sad egg flipper looking at the boiling pot, he feels a little left out of the dinnertime production. How would you've drawn this in your own style?
