Love the name "Undermound"! A particularly fine example of that distinctively energetic Rick Schmitz brushwork.
Needs an umlat in the spelling. Great character.
Rick, this is really fun. My plan was to brow-beat Ellis into allowing us to use his "Uncle Goggle" as our narrator, mainly b'cuz I've already put him in one of my stories (Ellis? What do you think??). But we could all use whoever we want...at the very least you can use Undermound to intro your story. I always liked when they a few different hosts jostled back and forth between stories.I just picked up the present-day "Eerie"/"Creepy" replacement from Warren Pub. It's called "The CREEPS"...have you seen it? It's a great indicator of the challenges facing anyone hoping to create a new horror anthology. Most of the stories feel like stories you've read before, most of the art feels like third-rate versions of their antecedents (Friz, Adams, Wrightson, etc.). They use a "new" horror host called "The Old Creep," and he's a disappointment, too--just a bland blend of all the old Warren/E.C. hosts.Looking at this book ("The CREEPS"), I wonder if we would do better to zero-in on a particular tone...more humorous? More serious? I have stories of both types...hmmm.
Horror may be your calling Rick. The new Ghastly Graham Ingals. You could be Rancid Rick Schmitz. Repugnant Rick Schmitz. Revulsive and Repulsive Rick Schmitz. Ruthless Rick Schmitz. Reluctant... no- but it was among the synonyms..Carnation in the top photoshop layer fixes him right up.Remember the man eating plant that Morticia used to feed in the Aadams Family?Cleopatra (I looked it up)Have a venus fly trap for a boutonniere.
Repellant, rank, reek, rancorous. My turn.E is tougher.I'll go with EVIL Ellis Goodson.Unless people like Eyesore Ellis Goodson better.
Eerie Ellis Goodson.
I like it. I am now Eerie Ellis.
You always have the best idea Tom.
Ellis, it's because we all know that you are NOT evil, just eerie.
I'll take Ruthless.Marty, please share your host character... I'd like to see what you came up with.I like the idea of a humor horror book. I actually have an idea for story already. I don't know if it's any good, and I'm not sure exactly how it ends, but it's a germ of an idea that might be well suited for this sort of book.
Ruthless Rick Schmitz. Good choice.I really liked Marty's take on Uncle Goggle.Uncle Goggle. I’ll see if I can find a version of mine
3 drawings of Uncle Goggle.
