Almost Midnight

I tried.
Must post or it won't be Tuesday in Oklahoma
better measure. I wanted to return to it and make sure I still had chops at recording. As Marty said on his post, the temptation to do correction in photoshop is pretty strong. Here I've done just a little smudge erasure.

I erased her head 50 times.

--and well worth it. I think the expression you got for her is 100 times better than the photo.

But we both inevitably make the heads a little larger than life, don't we?? You need to if y're gonna get in there and draw some features!

Fun stuff...tho' I question yr source material!

p.s. yr Robin WIlliams as Popeye post on tumblr has more than a whiff of the Goodson about his countenance...."agh-gha-gah-gah-hah!!"

Yes, I see a little me in the Williams Popeye. Luckily I don't have a squinky eye.

Proportion creep is a huge problem.
But this is a good exercise. Finding a photo you like and using observation skills. I haven't used the skill in so long for figure drawing that it was very tough to do.
I may try this same pose later. I also diid it on index card and ran out of room for the top of her head.

One thing that was good in trying to find the pose I wanted. I had this memory of her legginess in the movie. But movies being movies, there's really not that many full figure shots of her. Just establishing shots that she has legs then mid shots and close ups
Here making her first impression

I didn't finish my thought. What is good to realize is we too often try to draw a whole figure in comics. We've established all the parts are there. Do more crops.

Wait...izzat Jennifer Anniston???

And you are right--I am learning the crop is yr friend.

I forgot to re mention who it was. I mentioned my plan to draw her in my post on YOUR drawing. Yes. Jennifer Anniston. Still haven't seen all the movie. It's gory and bloodthirsty. Lots of shocks. Nice characters dying at the evil leprechaun's hands. No Darby O'Gill for sure.
