Yay! New Cork. I was just thinking it was time. Vlad will have to use a thumb drive with this girl. I'm happy that she is symmetrical. It would be a great bonus if she also turns into a car.
Looking forward to her name.
you've probably already rolled it out on facebook and on your web page. If you haven't, I think you should lose the background fence. What purpose does it really serve? When you do it in color, and I know all these are destined for color, the fence can be dealt with and made less eye catching. Right now I think it takes away from the girl robot focus. It attaches her, runs through her, in a distracting way.
Funny! I really like the progress of panels 4-7; great way to build to punchline.
However, I'd be lyin' if I didn't say I had the smallest hankerin' for a more dedicated Vlad reaction shot after the reveal (maybe even juxtapose Vlad's rxn with a rxn shot of his mate? showing her totally inanimate mug--drive home her unsuitability?)...but then it gets messy to go from there to the kick-around to the punchline.
So the way you did it is the way to go!
Ellis, interesting comment on the fence. Scott, I sympathize with the impulse to put it there...but agree that as-is, I confuse it with her form. Maybe if it looked more obviously rustic? Rough-hewn an less mechanical?
Great stuff! Viva Cork!
p.s.I esp'ly like the downshot on her Go-Go butt-cheeks in panel three.
p.p.s. Love the license plate.
I really like panels 2 and 3 because it's all about Cork and drawing her figure with gesture.
