Pull my finger

*pulls Ellis' finger*

Damn! I fall for that EVERY time!

Seriously, cool Rick! It kinda reminds me of the lead Martian in the TV Ray Bradbury's Martian Chronicles from the early 80s. Remember??

OMG! Is that were I ripped that off from? I find that I do that from time to time... something is lodged in my brain and I don't even mean to rip it off.

Now that I reflect on it, I think you are right...

Here's the MC version:

It's very similar... this is actual an update of a very old character I made up a long time ago. I used to draw him with no eyes at all. So, unintenitional ripoff or not... you decide!

I've got the Rock Hudson Martian Chronicles and I was going to point that out but I thought "pull my finger" was funnier. It looks like the mask that Bernie Casey wears when he's blasting away at Darren MacGavin and Rock Hudson with a similar in style delta wing space gun. The Martian that kills his wife at the first of the series has on the same mask. I guess the mask could have a lineage of madness. This is the sort of cultural deal that is inescapable for all us guys that cough of art on demand. We are what we eat. I am incapable of doing anything original. All I can do is throw up something with an obvious influence.

You mean this one?

I wasn't suggesting that you stole anything. Just recalling something I remembered from my sci-fi brain files. I like the floating version anyway. The TV version had a Greek tragedy feel to it. What's so Martian about that??

oh, I know... ripped off is my phrase, not yours. I'm pretty sure is was in my sci-fi brain files. It truely is a struggle to be original!
