Color tonight, Sunday 12-11-16- Spellcaster gets a new hat

This quick piece was nice therapy from all the deconstruction I've been doing on my Mom's room and her papers and belongings.
All the name change shifts. The this, the that.
Hard to believe Monday, tomorrow,  makes only a week since the funeral. It seems like a month ago.

I am glad to see you are persevering.

The few small changes to the eyes and the crease next to the nose between the rough and final changed the demeanor of the character. Do you see that too?

Yes. He's not as happy. I should do something about it.

It is why pencils should be finished. So you are just going over them in ink.

I like the visual storytelling techniques of the flies buzzing around the old hat and the torn open package.

I didn't know your mother died Ellis. I'm sorry to hear that. How are you doing?

Tom. I am doing OK. Lot of stuff done, some left to do. Most of the heavy lifting has been done.

My brother, who tortured my Mom with his heavy drinking the last four years that I've witnessed, has transplanted to his daughter's house. But that won't last. He'll be back here eventually.

He is basically brain damaged and falls into cycles of such heavy drinking he loses his mobility. Eventually having a seizure and requiring EM ambulance Service to the hospital.

Sad to say this. I hope for him to die. He will not entertain rehab. He thinks he's a tough guy sticking with his drinking and smoking. The only part of him left is a kind of mean snake of a 'screw you' personality.

Add to that, he still drives. Nope, better off dead. He's 60, he won't make social security. Hopefully he doesn't take anyone else with him. Like me.

Mom was the only unending fount of forgiveness for his actions. He treated her death as something that was a slightly annoying distraction. Couldn't straighten up enough for the funeral.

Lots of parasite to host relationships end now that Mom is dead. She had 3k a month coming in from 3 different retirements. All that 'extra' has evaporated. Russ now has 800 a month from his elevator pension (that I sent for and initiated-thinking it would give him some sort of self esteem he needed)

No, I very, very greedily hope Russell drops dead from a thunderbolt of lifeforce shut down.

Your feelings towards your brother are totally understandable Ellis. That's so sad that his life would be reduced to such a misery because of alcohol, not to mention the suffering he caused the rest of the family. I've had some small amount of experience with alcoholic relatives. It's truly a tragic disease.

Thanks Tom. I hate him but he also is where some of my greatest sadness lives. I saw a hidden camera snippet showing a mean bitch of a care worker slapping the hell out of some mentally damaged guy that wouldn't hold his mouth open right for his oatmeal. She gave him several pokes, hits and prods to the face. And the poor guy's face became a canvas of bottomless, weepy unhappiness. The guy resembled my brother enough that it just made me dread the idea he might get some mean person caring for him if he strokes out. Just live in Hell for the rest of his life. I don't hate him that much.

Got the color done through all my damn apathy. Appointment with a lawyer tomorrow to get the house deed squared away.

Will e-mail you again the first chance I get, Ellis.
Sending love and hugs.

Great coloring job Ellis. I'm happy to see that the sorcerer was able to find the exact same style and color of hat.

MrGoodson2 said...

Someone that likes the sorcerer and was tired of looking at the old hat.

Got a message that the enworld guy loves it and to enjoy the Holidays. So I guess I get this one vs the 7 I got last month. They were probably front loading a lot of art assignments so no one had to be around at enworld on Christmas.

The single one for Dec suits me. I didn't feel like doing a lot of art just now. Hopefully I get my mojo back for doing art in 2017.

Illo looks good Ellis. Sorry to hear about your Mom and Russell. My condolences, been in my own bubble lately (or the last few months)

MrGoodson2 said...

Thanks Jim. Just got the death certificates. Have to send a few of those out. Russell is a rug that will be pulled out from under my feet eventually. Just have to go along until it happens.

So sorry for all that has happened to you lately, Ellis. You have been in our thoughts a lot lately. Please let me know if there is anything we can do for you. I know you have had a lot of burdens placed on you, but when you have a moment you send me an email with your mailing address?

Best wishes and lots of love from us to you.

Sure Ronnie. Thanks. It was great to see your Mom and Dad at the funeral. Your Mom, the only female 3 Stooges fan.

Patty loves the Three Stooges.
You can't beat this scene. Aptly titled on YouTube as the "Three Stooges most violent sequence ever", Moe versus the Climbing Spike. HORRIBLE! Makes me laugh still.
