Father Christmas

So this is an old drawing that I decided to add some color too.  The drawing turned out looking very much like a 19th Century illustration, so I decided to go with it on the color.  I call him a "Father Christmas" rather than Santa because I always thing of Santa as being all red with a short coat... if St. Nick has a longer coat and there's some green involved then to me it's a Father Christmas.  Does anyone else have those sorts of associations?

Very nice. I like all the desaturated colors.

It's that yellow-age overlay you gave it that makes me want to call it "Father Christmas" rather than the more modern American-ish "Santa Clause". That's a really nice effect.

I think you are right about the long coat and the addition of green as well. This is an interesting site talking about how much our modern conception of Santa was the result of the Cocoa-Cola advertising art of the 1930's. Santa's before that weren't always so friendly and jolly-looking.

Somebody has a Family Christmas card ready to get printed. Look good. The Yellow does bring out that "Old" time look. Very nice

These looks yule-tastic! Love the old-fashion-y color pass.

Better than an Instagram filter!
