Placemat Proportions

I think this is the last of my random, no purpose doodles.
From this point forward, unless I have something I'd happily display on conceptart.org, I won't post.
That should limit my posts to about 2 a year. Heh Heh

I added a rough of the idea for the painting done off the top of my head. I've got my Tura ref ready. I'll do some more sketching plus make the monster less of an overt rip off of Frazetta's Spider Man.

What about your non-random, purposeful doodles? You can do a lot of those in a year, right?

Tom, purpose is key.

I'm going to try my hand at digital paintings that are somewhat like Robert Williams or Glen Barr.

Gussied up cartoons nicely painted, hopefully with humor showing through.
Mostly baby boomer scifi inspired.

Sounds totally cool to me! Bring it on!

The first one I'm going to research by watching Faster pussycat Kil Kill. I'll work Tura Satana into a scenario.

I think this is a great decision Ellis. Artists our age should be weaving all our random notions into a tapestry that describes our individual universes. One that expresses a lifetime of personal experience. I'm definitely into baby boomer sci-fi influences too.

My rip-off reference when I saw spider lady was that scene in the '80s Flash Gordon movie where Flash almost gets gobbled by that nasty spider hiding beneath the quicksand ... yeeesh!!! That scene gave me the creeps in the day.

I love the Flash gordon moment too. It has spider legs and big enveloping bladders that absorb Flash. Great scene. Very rewatchable movie that rubbed me the wrong way on the first viewing. I'd watch it any time over Star Wars product
