Had an interview last week.

It didn't go well.

So what happened?

I like cartooning to do journaling. This seems like an accurate memory of waste of time interviews. It's rare enough to get an interview.

Haven't it suck as an interview would need a cartoon.

Sounds like my Stereo D interview. Tom Carroll also had experience with that type of outfit.

This was a for job to model and texture low poly buildings for a simulator for one of our military drone makers. The terrain would already be built. I had to speak to 4 people separately. One guy was dubious of all the jobs I've had in the last 10 years and another seemed to not think my 3D experience was recent enough. All those things are apparent on the resume to begin with. Whoever gets the job will be the only artist in a floor full of engineers in teeny cubicles.
I have a friend who worked at Stereo D and has since been laid off.

Yeah, all these bastards are just that. Not worth working anymore when they are so damn nit picky now. Guy can't even get a break these days. They want you to know it ALL and have current experience. Sick of the whole process. This country is now a shame for the working class. Add age to the mix and your screwed

I need to proofread before I post. I've come full circle of job hunting. I was about a job, any job. Now I want to focus and get just THE job. And that job is me with clients, doing drawings. Now to find those clients. I will twist balloons into interesting shapes. Round being an interesting shape.

Ben, if only the interview went as well as this "self-portrait"--I love it!

It sounds like a pretty rough landscape out there for job seekers. Seems like best path might be what Ellis is saying--or just keeping busy with your own work...?

Great getting to hang out with you and Bessie at WonderCon!!

I like the classic, window pane highlight on the reflective skin on your head. That highlight symbol works on anything. It says "light source highlight.' It would work reflected in Boba Fett's faceplate.

I just "laughed out loud" again looking at this--love yr fine self-portrait, Mr. Montag.

..."laughed out loud"...hmmm, we should really come up with some sort of abbreviation for that....
