First 2017 assignment

It will be paid for in 2017 anyway.
Of course I have two 2016 jobs that will be paid for in 2017 as well.
The rough.
A giant with a chain curse.
Ballpoint detail so it will be easier to pencil tomorrow.
Into photoshop

I started 'flatting' by using the pencil tool to outline and then fill. More fun and easier than using the lasso or pen tool. Maybe cruder.
Cleaned this up a bit.

Revised- Blog with (most of) my enworld art

The art above is something I've apparently lost the high rez version of the finish. The version shown was cobbled together with high rez line and scaled up color. But I did a lot to the line to take it to a finish not shown in this version.
(Now in the new line up.)

Color tonight, Sunday 12-11-16- Spellcaster gets a new hat

This quick piece was nice therapy from all the deconstruction I've been doing on my Mom's room and her papers and belongings.
All the name change shifts. The this, the that.
Hard to believe Monday, tomorrow,  makes only a week since the funeral. It seems like a month ago.

Hand Me the Shark Repellent Bat Spray

I wanted to blog but felt it was necessary to contribute visually. I am super out of practice. One thing or another has kept me away from drawing more than crap on post-its for more than a year now it seems.

Nonetheless, months ago I wrote a thesis on how the comic book store killed the comic book. An interview of comic book writer Chuck Dixon validated my thesis to some extent. Promoting his writing for the graphic novel of Clinton Cash, Dixon was asked why the comic book readers couldn't dissuade the corporate overlords from introducing faddish PC elements into the comic books much like gamers did. Dixon answered that there just aren't enough comic book readers to make a difference. In the nineties, for reasons of their own, the comic book companies removed themselves from the newsstands and went to the comic book stores. He said he felt the impact of that decision immediately on his royalties checks. He also mentioned that Disney and Warner Bros. are actually not interested in  comic book production and are seriously considering stopping the production of new issues and relying solely on repackaging their library.

Anyway, just trying to be relevant.

Role Playing SciFi

A little change of pace from time of  legend type fantasy stuff.

Rough stuff.
I'll probably finish them tomorrow.

Hard part is done.
Color tomorrow.

Made a mess but decided I had done enough. Took about 3 hours.
Color after I get back from my walk, lunch and a nap. We'll have a new presidente by then.
No new President yet. 9:44pm-Oct 8

I working on a record. 4 would be a record, but after this 4th one, I'm told there is another. 5 times 40. 200 bucks of spendable money.
Inks and the flats.
I'll give it a break and do color tomorrow.
this was more trouble than it should have been. Some initial bad drawing and laziness. It's still a mess.

I got TWO extra jobs. 6 for the month. They're attempting to give me Christmas money.
Slipped in one more.
I'm almost burned out on the projects at this point. Ready to call it a month and get back to personal projects. Who knows, Christmas, Dec, they may take the whole month off. That may be half the reason for all the extra for times off.

Freelance-Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea-esque

I did the flats in photoshop for the color but the color will be in another person's hands.
Now I move onto a new enworld commission.
Goblin as Santa. I was told to think the Grinch.
Filling the frame up
Inks. Color tonight.
It's possible this is all my Nov freelance. Done by the 2nd.
Color.

Finishing Inktober

Out of order.
I revised half of them with some tone and touch up.
I published two, so it's too late as far as Inktober is concerned.
Tom's confusion on my cat drawing made me do a new one.
Now it's just a cat.
after a 5 minute visit to photoshop

Gedess German Lead Pointer in the field

Edge of the photo on the right. Under the masking tape roll.
Love that thing. And I've decided 2b Holder (company name Holder) lead is every bit as buttery and fun to draw with as a blackwing.

Wally Wood's mid 50s art studio

An artist at Oafcon had made this scaled down version of Wally Wood's studio.
Really eye catching at the door as you walked into the con.
