I broke my Ymir

Jim gave this to me about 5 years ago. Made the trip all the way back to OKC. Where I just broke it by swatting it off the shelf. Won't be selling that on Ebay.

That's too bad! But I didn't know that Ymirs had wings.

Don't swat yr toys, Ellis!

But now maybe the growth hormones will be released!

I bet tomorrow morning you will wake up to a 12 foot tall Ymir...'cept in three pieces.

(Good angle to do a remake but set it on Halloween eve...reminds me of yr demon in "The Albino" a little!!)

Great idea Marty!
Tom, it's easier to spell Ymir. And it looks almost identical, except with wings.

It's the Golden Voyage Of Sinbad Homunculus Tom.

Oh, ouch. I was all messed up on my reference. Harryhausen creatures are all so good.

What's the movie I'm thinking of?--not "Beast from 20,000 Fathoms." The one where he comes from Venus.

That's Ymir, right?

20 Million Miles to Earth

Yes the Ymir. The Ymir armature was cannibalized for the Cyclops in 7th Voyage then cannibalized to make the Homunculus.

Blair and I watched that Homunculus scene you posted here, El, and it's so impressive how Harryhausen builds your sympathy for the creature right from the get. It's not enough to just say, "nice stuff!'--but I will.

Marty. You're welcome for my posting of the Homunculus scene.
There is a new Harrayhausem doc I need to put in the Netfliz que. 2011. I bet I've already seen it.

That sure reads like I was drunk posting that last entry. Sober as a judge.

I hope you can glue Mr. Homunculus back together Ellis.

Missing pieces. They've mated with dust bunnies and I'll never find them.

That particular resin is extremely brittle,It almost powderizes if broken.

Then perhaps with your sculpting and casting skills you can make a new one! Maybe you could use the new 3D printing technology.
