Happy 4th everybody!

This is a little promotional image I did the other day for Polar Bowler.  Have a great holiday!  It was pretty fun to do.  Totally Photoshop.
Oh, and I did the PB logo as well.

Funny! I have to try Polar Bowler one of these days. Rick, I've been meaning to tell you that I've been playing the demo version of Plants and Zombies. It's terrific. Games like that make me wish I was working for a casual games company. I miss working on the smaller titles.

Very nice digital painting

You're such a good painter, your next comic effort should be more like this. Direct, big shape painting. Nicely thought out color script per page. The sort of thing you were great at for Image freelance.
Do you always pick colors and paint with them or do you lay color on and use the layer transparency settings to give you colors you like?

Thanks for the kind words, Ellis. The sad fact is that it would probably take me about 5 times longer to create a comic this way rather than just inking and adding simple color behind it, which is what I'm planning on doing with Dorothy Swift. I'm going to need a super-streamlined process if I'm going to get anywhere with it.

Oh, and PvZ is an awesome game! Real lightening in a bottle kind of stuff. It's a super fun game with loads of appeal and humor. PvZ 2 is coming out soon... we'll see if it can capture some of that same joyful, silly fun.

I'm sad to say that I had virtually nothing to do with it's creation. I started at PopCap when the project was almost done.

Way cool! Lot of personality in the bear. And oh, yes, we can definitely see your type box was set to "Schmitty Serif" 1 & 2.

Was I the only person who couldn't see the preview? I re-uploaded the image and that seemed to take care of it.

Awesome work, Rick! Love that bear!

Thanks Ronnie! I just love to riff on iconic images.

BTW, that's the outfit that PB wears when using the army tube with the mounted snowball gun.

I love the immediacy of it, Rick ... No line wasted ...
