So far, Rick's Chocolate Pecan Pie will grace the pages of WHIP! CRACK!! FRAPPE!!! The Comicbook Creator Cookbook ... but it wants TAG mates to go in with it.
Other pros with recipes in (by alpha sort): Johnny Beware, Jay Bradley, Wendy Broome, Gene Colan, Tony DeZuniga, Dave Dorman, Craig Elliot, Joel Eriksson, Geoff Klock, Christopher Moeller, Rick Schmitz, Frank Silas, Joel Vollmer, and Len Wein. More recipes expected any minute, including one from Clydene Nee (of Artists' Alley Admin fame).
Still plenty of room for TAG folk. I've personally invited Brent, but I think he checks his email about as often as Marty posts these days. C'mon, guys. Ellis, Beata, Kali, K-Zilla ... Even Chino D.? And Scotty, what exactly IS the recipe for Bun Cake, anyway? A quarter of the swag goes to the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund ... A great way to publicize your work, your blog, your ... whatever.

I really enjoyed Monsters vs Aliens
The 3d was great. Especially effective on the General with a jetpack moments.
Very loving look at 50s sci fi and quite a bit of reference to Tim Burton's Mars Attacks.
See it in 3D! I'm almost tempted to see it again just because I won't get the 3D when it comes out on DVD. I could kick myself for missing BOLT.
Trashed 3D
I didn't put this up for my health! I was wanting some
REAL constructive feedback. I appreciated the comments
already made.

Here's what I've been working on. In the UV mode and I've got a blue ambient lingh on it. Still lots of work left. Just wanted to post.

Cork 24
Okay, after awhile here's a new Cork. I may have Gloot ravenously eviscerate Cork in the next one. THAT would be coooool.

Art Show at 2 Bells
This is a piece I have done for an art show that I will be participating in with some other artists from PopCap. We will be showing the work in a Bar/Grill down the street from the office called 2 Bells. It's a great little place and something of a local institution. I think each artist will be including 2 or 3 pieces, and this is one I have done for the show. I may show the Wicked Witch one I shared here a while ago, and one other that I will work on between now and then.
Overall, I'm pretty happy with this piece... it's almost entirely done in Art Rage, with just a little bit of messing with levels and some dodging in Photoshop.
Brubaker Beginnings
I'm really into Ed Brubaker's latest offering Incognito. That lead me to start reading Criminal, which is also great. But before Brubaker ruled the comics scene as its hottest writer, he was a guy showing up at TAG arguing with Shel Dorf.
Here's a very early bit of Brubaker writing with pencils by Ranjo, Inks by Mike Christian. From Dark Horse Presents #50

John Asaro Paintings
Went to a show of John Asaro paintings. It may move to San Diego. The Santa Monica show ends tomorrow.
Asaro is a Carlsbad native I believe.
Saw my friend Jeff Wand there.
Title is a link to Asaro's web page about the show. Great shots of all the paintings.
Catch it if it comes your way. I was inspired. Not to paint. But to body-paint myself blue and red.

Recipe Request for TAG Artists ...
I'm doing a little side project that has no definite deadline (though it would be fun to have it done by Comic Con) wherein I publish a cookbook of the favorite recipes of comic book creators ... so dust off your 3 x 5 cards and send your favorite recipes to me at the email connected to the TAG blog ... Shenandoah01 at something. I believe I am even working with an editor on this one (Jill Duffy, my old editor from Game Developer days), so the results should be cool.
Once we get a page format together and start off with some "big" names, we'll begin soliciting for a publisher. At the very least, it'll show up on lulu.com ... but I think it'll turn out much better than that. Already I have a dip recipe from Wendy and Mat Broome, a noodle recipe from Armando Durruthy, and a Phillipino delicacy coming from Tony DeZuniga.
Anyone from TAG is invited to participate. ;-) 25 percent of the proceeds will go to the Comicbook Legal Defense Fund. If you have friends in the comic book industry who you think would want to get involved, send them a link!

New sketch ...
I think I was channeling my inner Mort Drucker with this sketch. It's based on a statuette that the company I'll be comic booking for produced ... but that woman looked like a everyone's worst nightmare of the cafeteria serving lady. This sketch shows her neatened up. I believe that the script (which will be delivered on Monday) calls for a nice person to arrive at a school to administer the lunch program, but because she lacks the right software tools to keep everything in line she devolves into a kind of soup kitchen troglodyte ... More as it happens.

In Honor of Jeff's New Gig
Comic Ahoy!!
Last Comic Con I had a fellow stop by my table in Artist's Alley and he needed a 2nd issue of a comic book done for his company. We exchanged cards and I stayed in touch with him over the past six or seven months. Well, it seems like the comic is a go and I'm just waiting for the script to be finished. I'm going to do rough pencils and my friend Johnny B. Gerardy will do inks and embellishments. I'll probably do basic colors and lettering. It should be an experience! More details when the script and contract are done.
Here is a little doodle I was doing based on something from the past comic. Not very indicative of characters, story .... or anything. But hey, it's a Tuesday Art Group Posting!!
Bejesus?
Okay, Now that I'm officially paranoid with my spelling lately, somebody give me the proper spelling for "bejesus". Is it "bejesus" or "bejeezus" or some other iterration (or itteration)? Help me NOW so I can ship this next Cork!

Old Monkeytropolis Art. Still No Squoob
UP Trailer-More Gags
I am so jazzed by the gags and feel in this movie. More than Ratatouille and WallE.
The title is a link to a site with different resolutions of this trailer.
Storywise, I'll be avid as to how they handle the beginning. It threatened in early cuts to be a bit maudlin. But you know Pixar won't let it go out like that. So their re shaping will be interesting.
Corbin David Betz?
Does anybody know him? He is requesting to join the Facebook TAG. Someone from the old TAG? A friend of someone's? A random person who just wants to talk about comic books with strangers?

Replacing the Sleepwalking Dog
This looks pretty good.
I'll delete this tomorrow.
The Dog. Do you suppose he is chasing or being chased in the dream?
