Board I'm Working On Today

Going to do a proof of concept for myself. Do something super clean using the pen tool. I'll post the result. I wrote this for myself. Short and sweet Beer commercial. Deserted island, skinny starved guys talking about they'll die before they eat another coconut. That's OK, the only cocnuts left are in the impossibly tall palm. Jurassic Park type vibration knocks the coconuts loose. Damaged beer cargo ship has run aground. Guys go on an out of control beer drinking binge with lifetime supply of beer. What's that ? A raft with bikini models!? Bikini model looking thru binoculars. Looks like some chubby guys. Other bikini model. I like chubby guys. The end.
Computer Edge art from the era shown below. Early San Diego. Browsing through stored tubs. Getting ready for massive ebay sales.
First place I worked when I came to San Diego. North Island. In a building that was designed to be a horse stable. This is probably sometime in 86 or 87. Interesting trivia. Geoff Gnobell probably took this picture. We worked at the same place before I went to Leland. Then we meet again at BlueSky.
Ahh. The old days. Everyone's favorite Tag guy, Patrick.
Thompson or Marty. Is this a famous goal? It should be if it isn't. That guy is Dambedextrous.

Call for contributors- TAG comic book

Okay, I'm going to officially kick this off... who wants in on a TAG anthology comic book?  I figure if wwe start now and we get 10-15 artists to contribute we can print up loads of copies and have them to sell/trade by the 2013 convention season.  Specifically, I would want to target ECCC, not just because it's convent for me, but that I would open this to TAG North contributors as well as for the old TAG guard.

At this point I'm just interested in a show of hands... who's with me?

Update:  I reset the date on this post that it would stay sticky and on the top of the blog for a bit.  If we get enough interest I'll probably start a new blog just for the comic book.

Clients From Hell

http://clientsfromhell.net/

This web site is a collection of stories from free-lance artists and graphic designers all about their worst experiences with clients.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Client: Can you make this blue redder?
Me: Like, purple?
Client: No. A red blue. Or even a blue red. Are you colour blind?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Client: I would like for you to make a simpler version of the logo for my business. What do you think of the logo I sent you?
Me: It’s too busy. It looks like a mural. When creating a logo, you want something simple. Simplicity sells. I’ll create a better version for you.
Client: Okay, thanks. Make it simple!
After spending 2 weeks creating the new logo…
Client: I saw the logo. But I think I want to use the original one. I wanted you to keep everything in it, but make it simple.
Me: I don’t understand how that’s possible.
Client: Are you saying that because you don’t know how to draw?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Client: So the reason you stopped updating the website is because I didn’t pay you your three months of outstanding maintenance invoices?
Me: I could have also suspended your account, but I kept it running out of courtesy for your business.
Client: But there’s been no work done to the website since two months ago - why should I pay you when you haven’t done anything since I stopped paying you?
Me: Please, just take a second to think about that.
Client: I don’t know, it seems like you’re only motivated by money.
