Tuesday- Another Enworld Process Entry

I was fidgety today and just got to the grayscale part.
Color tomorrow.
Someday I will learn to art direct myself.

No record of a couple

But that means I sold them.

Fun day. Moved a few sketchbooks. Had some good talks with people.

I remember selling catgirl with the whip. But not Batman being hit. Maybe it's in the box at the con.
 Hulk Head too small!

Thumbnails I did for the next enworld job while I was at the table at soonercon.

SoonerCon-Idles time sketches on index cards

My sketchbook is selling alright. Should do better on Saturday.
Did these sketches and placed them in my wire display.
Sold one.

Couple more
Last late addition. The one I sold.

During my Bakshi phase 1978/79

Done in ART Class with one of those Ebony pencils. Paper didn't hold up well over the years and neither did the smudging. Think I used one of those SF magazines of the day for reference.

Searching 'Ellis Goodson Art' I found-

Has it just been 10 years? I know that's a lot of time. But so much happened since we started contributing to this blog that I'm amazed it hasn't been out there longer.

I searched my name and found Sgt Scorpion as a hit. Went to the page and it was an archive of our first contributions.
Some great stuff.

I wanted an easy toggle between these two.
I'm going to paint back into the one on the bottom.
Give it a day's attention.
Got a lot touched up, healed up. A ways to go. Got some masks ready for more edits. I'll leave it for later tonight.

Adult Coloring Books

It seems obvious that Jim Gorham should put one out. The most popular style is the complex mandala intricate variety.
Jim's decorative fantasy heads might play huge. Plus he has the skills for clean illustrator line art.
I've been dabbling myself with a coloring book approach.
Being led there by the Enworld freelance, wanting to start cleaner before I got into photoshop for color.
I'm using the freeform pen tool in photoshop and a couple of actions to make it easier to work efficiently.

Superman - Bizarro Fight

I love comic-book-hero confrontations. But often I shy away from drawing super-beings punching each other. It's hard to believe that there once was an era when super-hero action was handled in relatively non-violent (and very creative) ways. There were fights where no one got hurt, let alone killed. The fact that comics were meant to be for little kids actually forced writers to come up with something more interesting than a simple slug fest.

Sticky Doodle- Massive PR launch

It took about two hours to let all my social media know via youtube there was a new sketchbook for their enjoyment.
Got every drawing in the book trailer. Is that smart? Probably not.

Card for a friend

So I've made friends with a  guy from the office who has a couple of young kids.  One of his kids had a birthday recently and I drew a quick little card via Manga Studio... oh wait, it's called Clip Studio Paint now. So confusing.  Anyway, I had some fun with it.
