New Beekeeping and Quilting, Too ...
To get the best viewing aspect ratio, click on the title link above.
On beekeeping basics, Tom Moon's comments got noticed ... Beekeeping insets and cutaways are now included.
My second effort. Much livelier and there is a reverse angle (two cameras simultaneously) on the sewing part.

Another Worthy Blog
The headline will take you there. Critiques of comic book covers by a comic book pro (Dave Johnson). Is it wrong to admit how much I laughed reading some of his brutally honest critiques? Johnson has a pretty acerbic wit, but I think most of his observations are spot on. Agree or disagree, some good observations to be found there.
An example of a 'fail.'

Cool Frazetta Blog
The headline is the link! Didn't see this posted here, but if ever there was a link that needed to be shared this one is it. Very cool walk down memory lane by the author. Frazetta was quite an interesting cat!

Scotty McPaint
Howdy felons! Just made a few additions to the concept section on my website in an effort to drum up some work. Some are new and some I got permission to post after about a year or more. Take a look, please. (I also revised the Gladiator Beast painting a bit and re-posted it.)

RIP Richard Alf
The title links to the UT article. A lot of Richard's friends, including my bro Peter (who used to work with him) have been posting stuff to his "Get Well" page on Facebook ... see link below. Peter was able to visit Richard twice right before they moved him to Ramona. For some mysterious reason, his illness (pancreatic cancer) was not made public until after his death. I snapped this photo of Richard at Shel's funeral in 2009.

News from the Greater Seattle Area...
In the wake of the EA acquisition there have been some major structural changes at PopCap. Where once there was a large Studio with an art team, now there are a lot of little studios with the artists on each of those teams answering to the Franchise Head of each of those smaller teams. So, no Studio Art Team, no need for a Studio Art Director. As of midnight last night I am available for immediate employment. ;)
All in all, it’s gone well. I got a nice severance package and I feel pretty good about my prospects… the game industry is flourishing, even in this crappy economy, and there’s a lot of this sort of work in the Greater Seattle Area. We have some breathing room, so we don’t need to find something right this second... we want to get the right position and we want to stay in this area.
Sue has been absolutely awesome… I don’t appreciate her nearly enough. All in all, I’m not sorry to see 2011 go, but I'm ready for the adventure that lies ahead! Happy New Year and Allons-y!
