Genius work Marty. You can bet I got my right click saving done on these. My favorite panel, where you really hit the sweet spot of old Drag Cartoons lowbrow rootedness, is the laughing heads around teen Ellis' vignette head. Perfect.

Glad I inspired you to do the only comic book sample you should ever have to do to start making an income doing comics full time.

I've been getting some more work. If each drawing has it's own page I have about 47 pages, which includes this story, my story, all of the other contibutors, the intro and the dedication. Probably want to include a blank page for sketches, too.

JMG and Ellis, I'm esp'ly glad if you feel I have done well by your home state. Did you notice the "OK!" in the Teen Ellis title splash??
A savvier hand could have done better on the "coloring" but I think it's serviceable.
This comic thing--I love it! I learned something new with each panel....
Ellis, your pronouncement that I'm now ready for pro comic work means a lot--I will endeavor to live up to it!
BTW, I'm looking for opinions... I have some contibutors who have sent me mutiple sketches. Shall I keep them together in the book or spread them out among the other drawings?

I just emailed you these files at this same resolution--guess you could just pull them from here...? I dunno if they're hi-res enuff, but I was goin off your 150dpi standard (these are 300dpi). The original files are about twice this size--do you think you need 'em?
Re: contributors and layout, I think the final call on sketches together or dispersed is the editor's (that's you!), but in the abstract I'd assume each artist's work would be lumped together.
Oh, and I've got four (or five) pages of Thompson sketches I've been finishing up for publication (might that put us over 50 pages??). I'm going to post them for opinions on how best to lay them out...stay tuned!
Ah yes, I had forgotten about Ron's contribution! That probablt puts us over 50 pages!
My inclination is the same as yours, Marty, to lump peoples' sketches together, but I thought I would contemplate the alternative to see if it has any merit. One merit it has is that it reduces the ability of someone to complain about where they get placed in the book. As it stands now, there's only a few people who have contributed only one or two drawings... the majority are either the 3 stories or batches of sketches like Jim's.
I still don't have any Moon drawings yet. Where are the Moon drawings?
Oh, and a couple of people contibuted work that is color, so I may put one or both of those drawings on the back cover.
Also, for the Creeple sketchbook I'm putting together I've found 84 drawings to include!
Marty should do what you're doing with Creeple. Make a book for Lulu.
Those things are great as super slick ways to archive your work.
Plus, it could be a good early lay out for a slicker book to come.
Help you and Marty both as a pitch item.

Marty, is it possible to hear the word GENIUS so often that it starts to lose its meaning and impact? I sincerely hope not, because everything you draw makes me want to use that word.
Even people who don't know Ellis (and will thus be completely unaware of how perfectly you nailed not only his features, but also his mannerisms and kooky vocabulary) will enjoy and "connect" with TEEN ELLIS. The art and comics experts will be blown away.

It's more paperback that it's comic book. But the interior stock is quite pulpy and comic book like. It's a nice feeling product. Very ergonomic read. Much better than the POD books I've seen that try to have slick, clay coated paper. The pulp paper is much better. The clay coat feels limp and floppy.
I had to re read Teen Ellis after Beata saying I was so recognizable.
