I love this--it looks esp'ly good on the full page that you've posted on yr tumblr. Great flow.
Love the demon head emerging from the block!
A quibble: with the image where we're looking out of the block at the two gents--the one with the floating demon hand: the triple slash of "reflection" in the middle of the frame wasn't reading as well fer me as the rest of it.
I like yr "types." The two dudes are great. And nobody does a demon quite like you...they have a lovably sympathetic kind of animalness. leavened with a sort of blue-collar bumptiousness. More macho than "impish." An impish that works the swing shift on the assembly line. And in its off-hours hunts gnus purely by scent.
I have a tumblr acct now specifically so I can see me some Weird Ellis Goodness.
Thanks Marty. Great comments. Like all my art , the longer i look at it, the more flaws I see. I'll revise those highlights. Find some reference for looking out through a thick window. Cut and paste a black and white version of it into an adjustment layer. That will do the trick. I'm going to change the demon mouth to. I played with teeth and ape lip. I don't like them. Need it subtler.
Can you not view Tumblr without an account. Probably not. I hadn't thought of that. I know everyone using Instagram is leaving me out of the picture. I don't have the OS for it. I used to be able to view page source and go directly to the url for the jpg. No more. And all the cool people use instagram.
My Birthday is this Saturday. I'm going to tell everyone at Home Depot to bring presents from tools and paint.
Thanks for the Tumblr follow. I'll follow you back.
I'm going to try and start a commission / store page on my ellisgoodson dot com page. I assume the address would be ellisgoodson.com/commisions.html
It's very easy to link to paypal. Need to look around and crib some ideas. Get photoshop started, do the main image, cut it up in imageready, do dreamweaver button stuff. Been awhile since I monkyed with that stuff but I can do it.
Wow, it's really looking good Ellis. That shot of looking out from the cube as though through thick glass? What a drawing challenge, I say. The kind I'd never even attempt, but if you can pull it off, more power to you!
I love Ellis Goodson dot com as an enterprise! Don't worry too much about the fanciness of the site--'tis the goodness of the art on offer that will decide yr fate (and getting it reposted a lot on tumblr).
I'm 60 today. I sure would like to retire to Coronado, Ca, walk on the beach next to the old hotel, take painting classes and blog.
Instead I'm going to work at Home Depot for 4 hours and wrangle idiots to replacement parts for their toilet. While my arches collapse into the concrete.
This should motivate me. It doesn't. I'm beyond motivation. It's more like paddles dipped behind the canoe for steering any more.
Happy Birthday Ellis! Welcome to the 60's club. Not sure I understand the canoe metaphor, but here's hoping you find your inspiration at the start or your (our) seventh decade on the planet.

I could view yr tumblr, but I could "follow" you without an account.
And I need to follow you.
So I am!
Hey, is yr bday on Saturday??
re: four millionth:
The funnier statistic is the way pageviews have been plummeting recently. Something like a 9,000% drop off?
I haven't seen the stat page before. Sez our blog is only worth $800 bucks. We got to pump it up!
Or should that be, "pimp it up"??
uh, two comments ago I meant to say "...I couldn't follow yr tumblr (without getting an account)."

Ellis, I'm just glad that at 60 you can still dip yr paddles.
Happy birthday!
Thanks guys. The paddle and canoe story example is confusing. I guess I meant I'm not really picking points and goals anymore. Just going along.
