I'll try and finish this today. It's tougher to paint with oils than I remember 8 years ago.
Interesting. Notice the Kirby has the pectoral area on the one side described as a somewhat weird bit of cylindrical striations. An earlier inked in hand? From a pose not deemed dynamic enough?
Looks a lot like a hand in a much more relaxed state.
I'm going to oil up a windsor newton series 7 tomorrow for the cause of finishing this with the detail I want. I've got some pink soap. Hopefully I get a few paintings out of it before I destroy it
