Drop Kick by Ben Grimm..

80s attempt at Comic Sample
Pencil start.

More work on the Dragon Painting. May revisit it. May move on.

I'm done with this. Had fun. I think I'll paint one of my Con Frankenstein sketches now.

El! These look great. I esp'ly love the lighting effect on yr Frankenstein...the cast shadow slashes across the wall? So evocative...like he's in a moody monster version of an 80's film like "Less Than Zero."

Frankie's sports-coat-over-t-shirt look helps this interpretation along!

There's a lot I like in the various dragon iterations, but I keep losing the girl...maybe get her back to the focal point? Love the dragon's features...looks like he's about to cackle. And the girl's figure is great.

Good bubbles, too.

The other dude's stuff is cool, but I dunno...I feel like we're saturated with that photo-realistic stuff (esp'ly where it's obvious the perspective is coming from a camera lens).

No question the Spaceman painter is a photo ref shooter. But that means he has a spacesuit. Points for that.

Thanks for the notes. I may go back to the dragon. Template the penciled hand back over it and bring it back to that hand and the girl figure. And see if i can focal point her. May do that, then enlarge the hand/figure part.
Frankenstein was all MacMini done with just a mouse for a tool. No cintiq loving.

I'm totally seeing a Bret Easton Ellis spoof in comic form...and done with an all movie-monster cast.

Do it!!
