Assuming I never have anything to sell, I probably will never go to the trouble again. I just let the pro enrollment lapse. Watching that trailer makes me realize all these "new" Con experiences are going to feel the same. Halls you can't into without two hour waits, crowded floors full of stuff you can get with a quiet and restful trip to Stuart Ng.
Actually I understand. You have to find new reasons to keep going.
I gave up Con for a few years too, but then I went back as kind of an observer of a social phenomenon rather than as a buyer.
Sometimes I want to give it up again, but now I've found a new reason to go back. My 5-year-old grandson is old enough to appreciate the Con, and he loves Spider-Man.
Does this mean you will never come to a TAG dinner again? We will never see you again in our lives?
I understand the sentiment as well, Ellis. 150,000 people is just too many. ECCC here in Seattle is still a reasonably sized con. I will continue to go to it for a while, but I don't feel drawn to the SD Con at the moment.
I do wish to visit with my buds, though. :) You guys should come up to our con!
I'm at the web site now. Do pros get in free? It doesn't look like it, but it's not too expensive in any case. I also notice that they actually sell admission at the door! A good sign that it's not overly crowded.
Yes, Pros get in free. They don't really advertise it. I have contacted the main organizer directly every year since I got here and he puts me on a list. Very informal.
Mr. Moon, you and your lovely wife are always welcome to come stay with us. We have kind of a crazy weekend that weekend... a lot of stuff going on, but I'm hoping to hit the convention for a few hours.
It's a thought. If not this year, then in the future. We would stay in Seattle with Patty's brother Fred. His apartment is on Belmont, very close walking distance to the Convention Center. Can I ask, what's the organizer's name and how do I contact him?

I hope you aren't serious.

If I've got money, I'd make a yearly pilgrimage to San Diego for a dinner.

Hmmm... I'm thinking maybe we SHOULD all switch to the the Emerald City Con as the official TAG meeting place Rick!
Let's boycott the San Diego Con!
I wouldn't mind giving a little con the once over. Good idea Tom and Rick.
Ellis, we have a spare room here with your name on it. Would love it if you made it up here for the ECCC.
Awesome Ronnie.

My enthusiam for the idea doesn't include this one coming up in weeks. No budget for train plane or automobile this year.

I believe he's the owner of a couple of comic shops in these parts called "Comic Stop".
