Hey. This Steve Canyon DVD. I got it from Netflix. But they had only 4 segments. I wanted more so I bought the DVD they also offer with 12 segments. Not available from Netflix. Probably repeating these 4 segments. But I needed more. Great, high quality images from 35mm film. If you're into aircraft at all, this is just porn. Awesome stuff and strong, manly stories. Manly I tell you.
MANLY MEN!

I bought a pack of the new blackwing pencils. 24 bucks. 2 bucks a pencil. Phew.
I haven't got them yet. I'll review them when I get them.
Take 5 miinutes and read the short short story that THEY LIVE is based on..

I have a few collected Steve Canyons...they definitely capture that "Dawn of the Jet Age" feel. And very unpredictable story-telling--a lot of off-beat or downright bummer endings.
Fascinating to see how the strip's origin as a daily leads to a sort of inch-worm progression in the books, with most every strip reprising just a fraction of the previous installment. Like how old TV shows would bridge the commercial--you'd cut away to break on one shot, then return to the same scene from a different camera angle, and then the action would resume.
Yes, fascinating!
And I love yer cowboy! I agree--give me a Rawhide Kid Reboot--by Goodson!!
Thanks about the cowboy drawing. I'll have to get one of those anthology repreints, hopefully black and white, of all those Kirby westerns.
Glad you know what I'm talking about on Steve Canyon. I did a quick grab of part of an episode
Steve Runs
I swear to God. Yesterday, Wednesday morning, I spent copying some of the Steve Canyon into mp4 . Then I decided to order the DVD of the first season. Today, Thursday, the DVD was in my mailbox. Amazing.
