I'm afraid that I must respectfully disagree... that was not cool at all. And if it’s real, I must say that I was expecting a more dramatic “re-imagining” of the look and feel of the thing.
It's so real, dudes... I mean, like, the planets in the early days of Kirk and Spock and all, well, they did look a lot cheaper ... So JJ spent a lot of money to cheapen them up for, y'know, authenticity's sake. It was only later, in Pickard's time, that they got all spiffed up. When Jon Favreau is given the job of taking us BACK to Star Fleet Academy to see what it was like when Pickard met Riker, well, the planets will look a lot better ...

It's fake...by all accounts. But I always like to see the Enterprise.

I think I've seen that shot before in another fan film. The planets looked a little cheap and not that interesting in the intro. My verdict: FAKE!!!
