A day at the Schulz Museum

This past Saturday I was at the Schulz Museum in Santa Rosa. I was invited to be the "Artist in Residence" for the day... it's a program in which once a month they invite a cartoonist to spend some time drawing and talking with patrons of the museum. I had a great time and they gave me a very nice Peanuts book for my time. Above is one of the drawings I did while I was there (I had my Tablet with me, so I was able to do the color and everything right there). I believe that Brent teaches cartooning classes there from time to time as well.

Sweet! Sounds like a great gig. So were the partrons scared by your computer or were they interested in the intersection of cartooning and technology? Did you mention that you were going to do this in a previous post?? Do you have pics of you at the museum??

If you go to the Museum website, click on “What’s Happening” and then on Calendar of events and scroll down you will see a picture of me doing my thing there. We hooked up my laptop to a wall mounted monitor so folks could see what I was up to. The staff was really great. Some of the patrons had general interest in the drawing aspect and some where regulars who were very interested in the computer and how I was using Photoshop to get different effects.

I went to the Museum site after Tom said you could see the picture. Nice write up.
Nice clean sketch too. I like the cat and how you put the shapes together.
