I did this in photoshop. Which makes it akin to after effects light.
Same sort of timeline work area. Just a less robust menu for FX. But since I love photoshop and know it pretty well, it's a ton of fun to play with video.
Lots of potential for planning out rotoscoping.
I did go into iMovie. Added some of my favotite themes. And a Wilhelm scream. No. Two Wilhelm screams.
(Got rid of the one with less sound)

Very funny and very cool Ellis!
Thanks Tom. Photoshop and iMovie. Now if I had any musical ability I could really aspire to be obnoxious.
Motion comics might be fun.
I think it would be cool if you treated these kinds of short films as kind of "movie trailers" for some fictional 2 hour movie, like in the style of this original trailer for King Kong in 1933:

Add some big text across the screen and a bunch of intriguing short, mysterious scenes. Maybe a booming voiceover too!
How about this one for "20 Million Miles to Earth"?

You have the best ideas Tom. I need to use some public domain vintage stuff and blend with it. Sounds fun. "Supers' are one of my favorite effects in photoshop. Like I dig the titles and credits as much as anything.
Target Earth is public domain. I could do something with just this 3 minutes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HYh9JRplfmo
Also public domain First Spaceship on Venus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PjvRHMXFHxA
And Phantom Planet. And Creature from the Haunted Sea. All public domain. I'm going to mash all 4 together.
Yes! Love that Target Earth robot attack!
I've decided on my source material. Digital copies on hand. Phantom Planet, Creature from the Haunted Sea, Target Earth, Not of This Earth, Metropolis , One Got Fat, and Radar Men From the Moon. Minute and a half limit for the trailer. Longer is tiresome.
