Did you end up watching this Ellis?
Still haven't rewatched it. I need to.
I just added it to my netflix queue and moved it to number 1 I'll see it in a couple of days
I moved this to the top so Tom Moon would notice it.
I watched it last night Tom. And it was very enjoyable. I watched it in a new way. French language and English sub titles. And I was sure I was getting more information that way. But I checked by rewatching scenes done in English. And the same amounts of info were being presented. The difference being that things heavily laced with exposition were now things I was reading, not hearing. Showing that you can be impatient with exposition in dialogue that you will tolerate coming off the 'page,'
Anyway, still every bit the trip it was when I first saw it. First viewing i was a little less aware of the big time leap between the first 'de-ohming' and the second. The Blue Giants living a different long life and their cycle schedules seeing years pass for the Ohms.
Still effective and shocking how the de Ohming reaches such a genocidal level.
Glad you liked it Ellis. Just looking at still shots of the graphics inspires me. I love that kind of slightly odd, off-kilter feeling of the graphics. It's a little dark, but not depressing. Sort of brooding, thoughtful.
I can see where you would like it Tom. Your work has similar rendering. But rour renders are more appealing. I felt like some of the rendering form carve out of Fantastic Planet was almost inept. But it was adhered to and defined the style.
