Time for Inktober starting tomorrow.
Instead of cheating like I planned and doing about 5 sketches before the start, I decided to work on this strip.
I'm going to fill all the blank panels today.
Someone loaned me a DVD. He claims that Ronda wins almost all her fights with armbars.

This is Inktober 9. I wanted to be ahead so I'd commit to 31 drawings.

I'll batch them all in one post on my Moldbreaker blog in a couple of days.

The photo grabs are from a outube feature on her sports illustrated shoot. Not the fight dvd.
I've gone on YouTube to watch a couple of Ronda Rousey fights. Sheila Bird and her husband Brian are students of Roy's and they are both quite high level. I met them once when they came down from Canada. Sheila is famous for finishing her fights with a flying arm bar (at 1:50 mark):

And what's the story behind the comic page? Something you wrote? Looks like a fairy Mohawk Indian.
I didn't write it. It's a poem by Chris Wong Sick Hong, a talented writer in the Okie Comic Creators FB group.
They are two warring, small island races. One with vestigial flight ability. Mustering the occasional power glide. Like, as you said, fairy Samoans.
That armbar was crazy. Really exciting move.
Off to a great Inktober start I see Ellis. I have never had the artistic energy to participate in these things. You have to do it for me.
