He flips out before he bites the head off a chicken if I remember right. And then falls into the restraining arms of people that love him and have been looking for him.
Thanks Marty Tom Ronnie
More to come shortly.
Just got my ergonomics comfortably right. So nice not to be using my lower back to draw. And, can still have the computer screen in front of me for bringing up ref.
Turned down the Kinkos Job. Looked to demanding for about the same money as the Hobby lobby job. Farther commute. Even though it was appealing that they train you for 90 days.
Going to the interview tomorrow for the car delivery/ (hustler?) job. I have a feeling I'll turn it down as well. Hard to beat the mellow demands that the Hobby Lobby would seem to make of a lazy man.
If they pay me more, maybe I'll do the car delivery.
Beata! You're one of my mystery customers. Thank you. October. Maybe. It would be nice to get out of Oklahoma for sure. I might be at OafCon. Now there is a con with my name on it.
I have a table. Or half a table. There's a good chance I won't be sharing it with a talent the equal of Buncake. Or equally annoying.

Tyrone Power is not showing up for some reason, just a black blank spot below your drawing.
Really nice-looking finished pencil. Looks like you are making good progress on that story.
Finishes are awesome, Ellis! Can't wait to see more!
THis is looking great, El!
I saw Nightmare Alley on a big screen at San Diego's Museum of Photographic Arts. Wild stuff!!
Hang in there, brother.

Just got word I got the Hobby Lobby job. 1 to 8 24 hours a week.
Still have the leeway to check out the Kinkos job and...
the Hustler / Delivery job for Avis.
Driving dynamite trucks.
If I was Harlan Ellison they'd be dynamite trucks.

Glad you got the job Ellis. Sounds like it could be fun.
Decided no on the Hobby Lobby.
Went with shuttling cars back and forth on the Will Rogers Airport area for AVIS.
25 hours a week.
Minimum wage.
No interaction with the public.
Just hopping in and out of cars, in all the weather that Oklahoma throws at us.
365 days a year.
Have to be willing to be scheduled on anyone of those days.
Plenty of time to do some personal projects and at the same time avoid the stupefying dullness of retail.
Have a little money that lets me pay a bill here and there.
So I've turned down TWO jobs. I'm a pretty big deal.
Well then, okay. No to Hobby Lobby and yes to Avis! Any job is good.
It's nice that you have options, Ellis.
Any chance you'd be allowed to take the weekend of Oct 4-6 off, so you could come interact with your adoring public in San Diego?
... and sign my copy of Retro Ellis, of course.
LOVED it! (warts and all)
Beata!
