Long live the King of Fantasy Illustration.
I wanted to have some hotlinks for Facebook. But also wanted a note to commemorate my favorite artist. RIP Frank Frazetta.
I was never personally a big follower of Frazetta, but his influence on fantasy art is without peer. I find it interesting that there are so many imitators of Frazetta, people who's whole career is striving to be Frazetta, and how none of them came even close to his ability and aesthetics.
I suppose everyone has their favorite Frazetta painting... mine is the one he did for a novelization of King Kong. The Fay Wray character is in the foreground and her sweeping hair tells the story of her quick, reflexive spin to see the giant beast behind her.
Now that I look it up online, I see that there are 2 different versions on this painting... there is a story behind this I'm sure...

The world loses another legend. There will never be another Frazetta.
Sounds like the family is in some kind of turmoil. Sad.
