I'm really thinking of revamping this strip and trying to start it as a legit webcomic. While I have toyed with the idea of making it a comic book, I think the web has the lowest level of risk. Ideally, I'd like to do something like three dailies a week and one, bigger, Sunday-funnies size endeavor. If I could get a good head of steam on these and keep it up for a while, I think I could collect it in a book, either a traditional comic book or a more traditional strip collection. Thoughts?

PvP has proved that one supports the other... I encourage you to do the daily and then compile them into a book.
One thing you might want to do before you begin is decide on a book length... that might inform the maximum length of a storyline.
Cool beans! You and I need to start going to the NW cartoonist meetings.... you might get some useful feedback from that group as well as from the TAG folks.
You should pick up the book that I just ordered from Amazon. "How To Make Webcomics" by Scott Kurtz (PvP) and three other cartoonists. It's an all-encompassing guide for what you need to know when starting a webcomic. Really insightful and will help you avoid many of the newbie pitfalls that I would have whole-heartedly stumbled into. You can also order it through the PvP website. Check it out.
I purchased that very book about two weeks ago and I agree it's a very good guide, easily worth the money. I've already implemented quite a few of Kurz and Co.'s suggestions into my own site, namely Wordpress with Comicspress publishing systems.

I mainly need to knuckle down and start producing strips - but that's part of the problem. Not sure if I want to do a daily strip or if I want to take a stab at an indie comic book.
Scott, how would rank working on "Cork" in comparison to doing more traditional comic-book work. I'm specifically interested if it is as artistically satisfying to do a strip as opposed to the larger, longer format you get in a comic book.
