My family and I are headed North where the weather is wetter and the land is less expensive! Seattle, to be specific. I just accepted a job with Popcap up there and we are pretty excited to be able to own a house again. Surlybird, we're on our way!
Sounds like a great company. Will the games be done with Flash?
I hope the move goes smooth and you find a nice to buy. I was checking prices online. They had homes for a quarter million here and there. But it seemed like the median was a half million. That would still be too rich for my blood.
Got your letter as well. Say hi to Ronnie when you get there.
Sue and the kids will be hitting the road today and they will be staying in some temp housing up there to get into school and look for something less temporary. I've got my 2 weeks to finish out here and then I'm on my way, too.
I will be answering my email soon... we've had a ton of things to do over the past week... it's been completly bananas... but over the next few days I should have a few hours here and there to catch up with everyone. I'm not sure what my internet access it going to be (I'm at Econo Lube right now using their waiting room computer)... it's likely I will be spending more time at Starbucks than Marty does for the next few weeks! ;) perhaps I'll even get some drawing in!
Thanks for the well wishes, folks! It's nice to know that folks are pulling for us!
Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help you guys out in your transition. I know you and Sue already know that, but I just want to emphasize it. If you guys need a place to stay, our house is open to you and if you need some storage, feel free to use my garage.
I also failed to mentioned the realtor that helped me find my place is top notch and I would have no problem recommending her again. She really helped me find the home that best suited me, and in short order, too. You guys may already have a housing plan worked out, though, so feel free to ignore this last paragraph.
Exciting times, Rick! Congratulations on the new job, and good luck with the house-hunting and moving.
Oddly enough, the chances of our "in person" paths crossing again just increased, since Bill and I travel to the Seattle area more often than the SF Bay Area. Bill grew up near Seattle, and most of his family stills lives there; plus, we like to visit for the rich and plentiful dance/music offerings (Folklife, etc.).
Maybe the next time we're up there, Bill and I can talk you guys into an outing somewhere.
Patty's family is up there also Beata, so we frequently make trips up that way. In fact we just got back from Paradise Lodge at the base of Mount Rainier. Patty was born and raised in Puyallup. Where was Bill raised?
