I finished this a few days ago but I wanted Tom and Ellis to bask in their achievements for a while before taking the top spot on the blog.
I'm kinda happy with the way this turned out... it has a level of polish that I'm usually too impatient to achieve.

I agree with you, Rick. And the polished surfaces contrast very well with the more impressionistic background ... Niiiiice job!
Suh-weet! Great job, Rick. I'd love to see that as animated character. Very cool.
All done on your tablet, I presume.
You were always great with color Rick. Having added a lot of polish to the draftsmanship really shows that off. But your color compliments are always right on. All that comuter edge work. Start toring these up for a LulU special.
Joe Chiodo taught me everything I know about color!
Well, okay, maybe I got some color knowledge from my college teachers... and Mr. Love in High School...
Seriously, though, so good knowledge rubbed off when I worked with Joe for that small period of time. He should do workshops at the con!
some good knowledge, I meant to say...
I had a couple of typos ....

Joe is the man for color. He's got that same working philosophy for color some artists find it easier to achieve for things like gesture.
As in, I know gesture is pleasing, so all my drawings will need gesture.
Joe knows what it takes to make color appealing, and the knowledge is always in every piece he does.
Beautiful job Rick!
I'm keeping track of the TAG goings on from beautiful downtown Boston! I'm on vacation all this week in your ex-home city, Rick. We are staying at the Beacon Hill Hotel and Bistro on Charles street across from the Boston Commons. We spent all day today walking around Boston. What a beautiful town. Taking lots of pictures.
Wow, Tom, swanky digs!
Yes, Boston is very nice... you are there too late for the swan boats, though. If you can, get up to Salem... it's a hoot! Also, the further North you go at this time of year, the more impressive the turning leaves will be.
If you take the Franklin commuter line out of South Station and get off at the Norfolk station you will be within a mile of where we used to live... but don't do that because Norfolk is kinda dull...
BTW, we will be finding ourselves in Southern CA the first week of Nov.! Jeff, MC and Sue have already started discussions for us to get together on the way to SD or on the way back... it would be way cool if Ellis and/or Marty could hook up with us, too.
We are coming down on Thursday, Nov. 1st and returning Monday, Nov. 5th. We are coming down for a house building project on Sunday and we are hoping to visit as many folks as we can! Perhaps a Friday lunch with the SOE gang is possible as well...
At any rate, we are looking forward to being in San Diego again, even if it's just for a weekend, and seeing our friends!
