A New Version of This One

I posted these a while back. I've since added several drawings and edited others. 

For the past few weeks I've been digging back into old work and re-doing a lot of it. Much easier to see needed corrections after a year or two has gone by.

 

Saw Barry Lyndon for the 1st time

I think it is the only Kubrick movie I hadn't seen. Saw Marty did sketches from the TCM showing a couple of nights ago.

This is me doodling during it.

It's always been about the 3 hour length. I didn't think I'd like 3 hours of what I was mentally classifying a costume drama.

Loved every minute of it.

Yes, I know. The rough is better. 

The size requirements pushed me around too much.

 No rough prelim on this just started and erased and corrected as I went.

This is the final, the blue. I turned in the red and I got a note that it didn't work. 

Blue is better.

I'll finish this tomorrow and then start on that Bat-Hulk

Color some time today.

Bah.

Got an extra commision. Started this digitally and just smudged it, stayed indefinite. The pencil sketch will probably be unrecognizable compared to this rough.

Kinda fun though. Something i want to develop.

Wednesday digital photoshop doodle with Kyle Animator Pencil Preset.

Hey. I wish it was another 48 pages from Tom Moon too.

I bought a big package of Kyle Photoshop brushes at one point so that I'm on his email list.

This Animator Pencil preset is free.

I gave 5 bucks for it. Definitely worth that.

I really like doodling with it.
Feels like a pencil.

You ever see the movie Idiocracy? I've been working on the sequel.

I've been trying to ink in photoshop with brush cursor set to reflect the shape of the brush. Meaning guesswork where my line is actually going to start. I just switched to 'precise' in the preferences.

Lord, what a difference a setting can make.

I might be able to draw without the messes I mention in the comment section.

YOU RANG?

Some much needed cutting on running length. 

Came out decent. Couple of cool sound additions.

I was going to be the voice on the other end of the line. And I couldn't pull it off to my satisfaction. I think it plays better with just Scott's voice.

It shouldn't be possible. I just watched a 1948 movie with dinosaurs and a Sloth the size of King Kong that I knew nothing about. With good actors.

Working on this animal drawing class. So dang far behind. This is to give 'em an idea of how to build a drawing. A true step-by-step scan (except the abstraction), but turned out stiff-as-hell in the end, didn't it? Crap. Shouldn't work in blue pencil, either....

Jim Gorham, hope you're OK. Neither me nor Ranjo have been able to reach you by phone. I guess I should email. And I will. Soon as I finish prepping this class.

Ellis, I was thinking of your "You Rang" last night as I watched the obscure Warren Oates opus "Chandler." I taped it 'cuz: (1)Warren Oates and (2) I was thinking of "Hammet" (?) The Frederick Forrest movie from Zoetrope. The opening shot of Chandler was great, but oh, man, what a bad movie. Beautifully shot. And a gloriously mature Leslie Caron hustled about while wearing full-on 70's regalia of a rare gorgeousness.
